Casino Night Fundraiser
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina the generous members and employees of the Harbor Hills Country Club adopted the employees of the Country Club of Mobile. Friday, September 23, a Casino Night fundraiser was held which raised over $4,000 for this worthy cause. The below letter was sent from the General Manager of the Country Club of Mobile:
Dear Members of the "Hurricane Katrina" Fund Participants:
I am overwhelmed with the generosity of those who contributed to the Hurricane Katrina Fund for the Employees of The Country Club of Mobile. The heart felt compassion you have shown for those who were impacted by this natural disaster is reflected in your contributions.
We are pleased to announce our Club is up and back in full operation for our members to enjoy. It has been a trying experience dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina (and still dealing with it) and we are very appreciative of our friends and colleagues who have had us in their thoughts and prayers. We appreciate what you have done for our employees.
Sincerely,
Don

Meet the Chef and dine finely
Chef Richard is from Schenectady, New York which is derived from the Mohawk Indians "End of the Trail". He started out working in restaurants in the New York area, and in 1979 Richard moved to Florida. He attended the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, New York in 1982, and returned back to Florida after completing the courses.
He has been the Executive Chef at the following local area facilities: Mission Inn Golf and Country Club, Silver Lake Country Club, Sugar Mill Woods Country Club, and The Villages 90' yacht called "Summertime".
Richard enjoys golf, playing darts and, in his own words, " loves eating junk food."He has been with Harbor Hills Country Club for nine years. He enjoys working at the club, and preparing the food for the members from casual Wednesday Night Dinners to Fine Dining to Sunday Brunch to Special Events. Chef's Richard's goal is to use the freshest ingredients that will not only tantalize the taste buds of our members but will also display the artfulness of true culinary presentation.
Richard looks forward to meeting all the new faces who will be building and moving in to the Harbor Hills' community. And speaking of fine dining.. Chef Richard has prepared an extraordinary menu for our next fine dining event. See the last post below:

An act of kindness from young residents of Harbor Hills
A few wonderful young residents of Harbor Hills, Morgan and Alex Girard, and new resident twins Lauren and Camden Coe, decided to lend a helping hand to the unfortunate victims of Hurricane Katrina by selling lemonade, icees, and cookies on Harbor Hills Blvd. Their proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army.
Other On-going Katrina Related Activities Include: Non-perishable food items, as well as hygiene products are being collected in front of the Harbor Hills Pro Shop to send to the Gulf Coast. Links to provide monetary donations to the Red Cross can be found on both the Harbor Hills website and Blog. Additionally, please check back for details on the upcoming Casino Night that will directly benefit the adopted employees at the Country Club of Mobile.
