Bassmaster Federation Nation Championship on Harris Chain of Lakes

The Bassmaster Federation Nation Championship was decided yesterday on the Lake Harris chain of lakes as covered by ESPN. Randy Phillips of nearby Oxford secured the 2009 Bassmasters championship on the same chain of lakes that is home to the Harbor Hills Country Club.

Congratulations to the Blue Team for retaining the Sider Cup!! The first day really set the tone for the entire event when the Blue Team jumped out to a 15-7 lead in alternate shot format. The weekend would prove that Friday was no fluke, when the Blue Team extended their lead early Saturday and concluded the 2009 Sider Cup on Sunday afternoon with a 52-36 win.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Sider Cup, and I would encourage every golf member to play in this great event. This is my favorite tournament for many reasons, but what I like most about Sider Cup is the comradery that is created by all of the participants. Although we have to wait another year for next year's Sider Cup, we have many great events at the Club in the meantime. Be sure to stop in the Pro-Shop if you have any questions about upcoming Couples Events, MGA/LGA play-days, MGA Club Championships, or anything else golf-related. Great things are happening at the Harbor Hills Country Club. After a tremendously successful Sider Cup tournament and festivities, the greens keepers are busy preparing the golf course for the upcoming winter season. The Signature Grill is also receiving a makeover. Come join us for lunch on Wednesday to see our new floors...and be sure not to forget our member's buffet on Wednesday night.

2009 Sider Cup Golf Tournament and Festivities

It is October and at Harbor Hills that means it is time for our annual Sider Cup.

The Sider Cup is a time honored tradition at Harbor Hills that consists of two weeks of festivities culminating with a 3 day Ryder Cup style golf tournament. The festivities began two days ago at the Ladies Blue and Red Team Party and will be followed with:

The Blue Team Golf Cart Parade and Team Party, Thursday October 8th;
The Red Team Golf Cart Parade and Team Party, Friday October 9th;
Oktoberfest Celebration and Dinner, Tuesday October 13th;
HHLGA Ladies Red Blue Golf Tournament, Thursday October 15th;
Sider Cup Men's Tournament, Friday October 16th - Sunday October 18th;
Tent Parties on the 18th, Saturday October 17th;
Scoreboard Party on the 18th, Sunday October 18th;
Sider Cup Banquet, Sunday October 18th.

The Sider Cup is truly a unique event that that showcases the best of the Harbor Hills lifestyle.
